Cannot change analogue clock theme from light to dark

This is a strange one; if I create a layout with a region containing an analogue clock, I can only have the theme set to light. If I set the theme to dark and click ‘Save’ the setting fails to ‘stick’ and next time I check it is still set to light.

No light clocks on a dark background for me :frowning:

This is running Version 1.8.11. Any ideas?

I have been testing this on my own CMS and found that whilst the Theme appeared to state Light when I checked the Settings, the Clock was actually using the Dark theme after I had selected it and Saved. This was also the case when I scheduled the Layout to a Player.

Can you confirm that after you have set the Theme to Dark and saved the changes to the Widget and the Region, does the Clock actually appear black or remain white?

Aha! thanks Dan,

In fact, I was getting very confused, and so was trying to toggle the theme in the wrong direction. I wasn’t sure whether ‘Dark theme’ meant I would get a white clock (suitable for use in a dark theme) or a black clock (the clock is themed dark). Couple that with the buglet and my confusion was complete.

So to confirm:

  • When, I was trying to switch from ‘Light’ to ‘Dark’ nothing was happening - I was still getting a black clock
  • Following your tip, switching from ‘Light’ to ‘Light’ actually got the effect that I wanted - and I have a white clock.

So yes, just looks like a bug with the displayed mode on the selector. Hope that’s not too confusing, thanks for your help and very swift reply.

Thank you for confirming that the Clock was indeed changing Theme, even though the form does not accurately reflect that. The form will be fixed for the next release, I’m glad that you are still able to chose the Theme you want to use in the meantime.
