Calendar Fallback Data - not functioning

Issue

I’m using the Calendar widget – Description and have successfully connected it to a Google Calendar feed. The widget is configured to display current events only, and this part is working as expected.

However, the Fallback Data functionality does not appear to work. In the Fallback Data tab, I have set a default message to display “When no data is returned”, but nothing is shown on screen when there are no current events.

I’ve also tested the other fallback options:

  • Always
  • When there is an error

None of these settings result in any fallback text being displayed.

Is this expected behaviour for the Calendar – Description widget, or could this be a bug or configuration issue?

Also, if the event description in Google Calendar contains quotation marks ("), this text does not appear on the screen.
