Calendar based scheduling of lay-outs

Hi,

Is it possible to schedule lay-outs based on a calendar feed? In our situation we have Xibo playing video’s and RSS feed continuously but we want to ‘welcome’ guests when they have an appointment at our office.

For example at 3:00 PM we expect a guest and made an entry in our agenda (for e.g. Google Calendar), I want the displays to show ‘Welcome XXX’ for a couple of minutes and later on continue with the other campaigns/lay-outs.

I know there is a possibility to schedule it via the CMS and create separate lay-outs, but I want to have it more generic and automated since the persons at our reception change weekly and I don’t want to give them an introduction to Xibo and the lay-out designer.

Thank you for your message. It is not currently possible to schedule Layouts based on a Calendar feed.

You are welcome to open a Feature request post in the Features section of the forum if you would like this functionality to be considered for future releases of Xibo. Whilst this does not guarantee that the feature will be added, it does ensure that idea will be considered and allows for further discussion a bout how it could be implemented.
