I just want to check if current (or future versions) will have any dependency for newer versions of Android?

A lot of the players that I have purchased are Android KitKat 4.4 and can’t be upgraded.
Currently, Xibo works great on this version and is very stable, but I want to check just in case any future version of Xibo will require a higher version of Android? That way I can plan for this.

I think it’s reasonable to assume that at some point in the future, we’ll release a new version of the Player that requires a higher version of Android than the current minimum (4.4).

We try very hard to keep that minimum version as low as we can, and we only increase it when there is no sensible route for us to keep it as it stands. So for example if a new feature meant that the software will not build for earlier versions of the Android SDK.

It should not change within a series, so you should be fine for at least the remainder of the 1.8 releases.
