# CMS Version

4.5.2 without docker on Ubuntu Server 24.04 using Apache2

All my displays are no longer displaying new content after modifying a layout or schedule. They appear as outdated in the cms and report the following errors:

> CMS has sent an error: \<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?\> \<SOAP-ENV:Envelope xmlns:SOAP-ENV=“[http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/](http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/)” xmlns:ns1=“urn:xmds” xmlns:xsd=“[http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema](http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema)” xmlns:xsi=“[http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance](http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance)” xmlns:SOAP-ENC=“[http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/](http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/)” SOAP-ENV:encodingStyle=“[http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/](http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/)”\>SOAP-ENV:Bodyns1:RegisterDisplayResponseDisplay is active and ready to start.\</ns1:RegisterDisplayResponse\>\</SOAP-ENV:Body\>\</SOAP-ENV:Envelope\>

When heading to [https://cms.url.com/xmds.php](https://cms.url.com/xmds.php) it provides the following error:

> This page contains the following errors:
> error on line 2 at column 6: XML declaration allowed only at the start of the document
> Below is a rendering of the page up to the first error.

Heading to the network tab, there is indeed an empty line before `<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>`

It does not appear to be a problem with the CMS, but instead with everything I’ve put into settings-custom.php.

Disalbing my custom settings did resolve the problem.
