404 login error while upgrading CMS

I’m trying to upgrade my CMS from 1.7.8 to 1.8.1 manually (we’re on Win 7 and I can’t use a VM here… plus the clients aren’t connected to the web anyway so we can’t push upgrades). I’m running into an issue where the “login” page appears to be missing.

I took the following steps:

  • Backed up the DB
  • Backed up the existing IIS dir (I have everything in C:\inetpub\wwwroot)
  • Copied the zip file contents to C:\inetpub\wwwroot\xibo
  • Set the IIS root dir to C:\inetpub\wwwroot\xibo (I want xibo to be http://server and not http://server/xibo)
  • Copied the existing settings.php and web.config file back
  • Set the IIS dir to %SystemDrive%\inetpub\wwwroot\xibo\web (not in the instructions, but if I didn’t add the \web then I just got a 404 error)
  • Navigated to http://server

But I’m just getting this:

If anyone could help me find a resolution to this fast I’d appreciate it. Worst case I’ll roll back to the old CMS but I’d rather move forward on this… I have clients up all over that are waiting to connect to something.
