I have Xibo installed on a 1080 Android stick and this works fine on my 1080 tv but when I plug the device in a 4k tv the layout appears very small. Xibo app is full screen and I’ve changed the Android profile in the cms to 1920x1080. The tv is registering the device as 1920x1080 when the input is selected and the status window is registering as 1920x1080. I’ve attached images of the status screen and the layout that is being displayed.
Any help will be appreciated. I have a self hosted installation.
Interesting, so the player covers whole screen (as status window seems to be in usual size).
Does that happen with any content?
Could you perhaps have some simple layout with some text in a region and background different than black - so we easily see how much of the screen does it cover?
Are there perhaps any settings in the monitor itself that you could adjust?
I tried a coloured background with text and it covered the whole screen as it should so it’s an issue with the video. These were created in Quicktime and then reduced in size in Handbrake but the dimension are still 1920x1080 and as I said play fine with the same player on a standard HD tv. I’ll upload the original output files to the server and see if it is handbrake that is causing an issue.
Problem solved! It was the setting on Handbrake when converting a mkv file to a mp4 it had a web optimised option on. The file size came out the same size but is now working fine on a 4k tv at 1080.
Thanks for your idea of the plain screen with text, I feel a bit silly not trying it myself now!
